Intangible Folk Culture of Okinawa
Experience "bullfighting" up close!

Okinawa's bullfighting culture is a time-honored tradition that dates back to the 16th century. It developed as a pastime for the islanders to celebrate a good harvest, and is still carried on by passionate bull owners.
In this program, you can watch a powerful bullfighting exhibition match up close and learn about raising and caring for bulls from the bull owners. This is a rare opportunity to experience actual care in a bull pen!
